Emergency HVAC Service
When weather turns dangerous, a heating or cooling failure can move from inconvenient to urgent. We prioritize emergency service for equipment we installed, especially warranty systems, and help non-existing customers when technician availability, parts, and call volume allow.
What counts as an emergency
Emergency HVAC service is for conditions where loss of heating or cooling creates a safety or property-risk concern, especially during severe cold, dangerous heat, or warranty breakdowns on equipment we installed.
- No heat during freezing weather
- No cooling during dangerous heat
- Heat pump, furnace, AC, or mini-split failure on KJT-installed equipment
- Warranty-related breakdowns on systems we installed
- Water around HVAC equipment, frozen condensate, or shutdowns that may damage the home
How we prioritize calls
Weekend and after-hours emergency service is available during emergency weather conditions, especially for systems we installed and systems under warranty. Existing KJT customers and KJT-installed equipment are prioritized first.
New customers may be helped depending on technician availability, weather conditions, parts, and call volume. We avoid promising a response time we cannot stand behind, and we will be upfront if another option is safer or faster.
KJT-installed systems under warranty during emergency weather.
Existing customers and KJT-installed systems outside warranty.
New customers when schedule, weather, and parts allow.
Safety first
Some problems are not safe to troubleshoot by appointment. If you smell gas, have a carbon monoxide alarm, see smoke, smell burning electrical components, or have repeated breaker trips, leave the area if needed and contact 911, your utility, or the appropriate emergency service first.
Once the immediate hazard is handled, we can help inspect the HVAC equipment and plan repair or replacement work.
Emergency HVAC Service FAQ
Do you offer after-hours emergency HVAC service?
Weekend and after-hours emergency service is available during emergency weather conditions when capacity allows, especially for systems we installed and systems under warranty. We do not advertise guaranteed 24/7 coverage.
Who gets priority?
Existing KJ Thomas Mechanical customers and KJT-installed equipment are prioritized first. Warranty-related issues on systems we installed receive the highest priority whenever weather and schedule conditions make emergency service necessary.
Can new customers get emergency service?
Yes, depending on technician availability, weather conditions, parts, and current call volume. If we cannot respond quickly, we will be direct about that so you can make the safest next decision.
What should I do for gas smell, carbon monoxide alarms, or electrical hazards?
Leave the area if needed and call 911, your gas utility, or the appropriate emergency service first. Do not wait for an HVAC appointment when there is a suspected gas leak, carbon monoxide alarm, burning electrical smell, or repeated breaker trip.
